I received a Masters in Social Work at the University of Kansas and have completed postgraduate training in Bowen Family Systems. I am certified in Theophostic Prayer, and remain a board certified Psychiatric Nurse. Through my own life, as well as what I have observed in others, we often do not choose what life hands us, but we can choose how we respond to it and the type of impact it has on our future and our relationships. Today’s crisis, disappointments, and hurts can keep us stuck, angry, victimized, depressed and anxious, or they can become a roadmap for our tomorrows. Through a systems perspective, our work together will focus on understanding how the past influences the present; how to make choices that puts our life back on track and keeps it there; and how to resolve the emotions of fear, hurt, anger, betrayal, disappointment, grief, confusion, loneliness, shame, guilt, etc. that may interfere with who we are created to be as an individual and in our relationships. This work is done with individuals, couples and families, including blended and single parent families. I am certified to do premarital counseling and am available for speaking engagements on topics related to emotional health, relationship health, and women’s issues.
